Sahmyook University continues to strengthen its capability for internationalization through exchange cooperation with sister universities in the U.S. On June 15, 2022, Kim Il Mok, president of Sahmyook University, visited with Robert Young, vice president of Southern Adventist University, one of the sister universities in the U.S. that have exchanged cooperation achievements to renew the existing Memorandums of Understanding.

First, the two universities agreed upon continuing with the current exchange student program, which has been in operation since the first agreement in 2008. The program selects students who qualify for language proficiency and academic performance and sends them to participate in a year-long exchange student program. The TOEFL ITP score administered by Sahmyook University continues to be recognized, while the existing 25% tuition waiver has been expanded to 40% through the renewed MOU.

Furthermore, the latest version of the agreement stipulates the running of a short-term language program every summer for freshmen with outstanding academic achievements, as well as continuing the faculty exchange program for academic exchanges.

Kim said, “Based on close cooperation with our sister universities, we will continue to support our students as they work to enhance their global capabilities.”
