A delegation of Seventh-day Adventists, including Teixeira Vinte, president of the Northeastern Angola Union, were received by Dr. Adão Francisco Correia de Almeida, president of Angola's National Assembly.

The meeting focused on Adventist community concerns, including Sabbath observance, religious freedom, and the participation of church members in public and academic life.

A main issue raised at the meeting was the scheduling of public service exams held exclusively on Saturdays. Church leaders said the practice has created significant difficulty for many Adventist candidates who find themselves choosing between participating in testing or abiding by their religious convictions. The delegation called for solutions ensuring equal access to public service exams while respecting citizens' right to religious freedom and freedom of conscience.

The delegation also addressed difficulties in education. Academic calendars, exams, and other educational activities are often scheduled on Saturdays and can negatively impact Adventist students. Delegates called for greater institutional sensitivity in academic scheduling to prevent conflict between Adventist students' faith and academic responsibilities.

Additionally, the delegation expressed a desire for the Adventist Church to be consistently included among religious organizations invited to official ceremonies of the National Assembly.

For Adventist leadership, the meeting represented more than an institutional courtesy. It opened a space for dialogue on religious freedom, education, citizenship, and public participation. The Church reaffirmed its readiness to continue constructive engagement with Angolan authorities in support of a society that respects freedom of conscience and religious diversity.
