Australian-produced children’s Bible series The Rescue has been relaunched in a fully animated format, with new educational resources designed to help children explore the Bible and understand the conflict between good and evil.

The new Season 1 was officially launched at Avondale University Church in Cooranbong, New South Wales, on October 3, with the first of 15 episodes now available online and subsequent episodes scheduled for weekly release.

Produced by Abide Family Ministries for Hope Channel, The Rescue originally launched in 2024, combining puppetry, animation, and music to introduce children to the biblical story of salvation. The new production moves to a fully animated format, accompanied by a range of resources for teaching and learning.

Each episode includes a downloadable resource pack of approximately 20 pages, featuring activities, object lessons, and teaching materials designed to reinforce the biblical concepts explored in the series. Original songs, backing tracks, and musical scores are also available.

Abide Family Ministries director Kimberly Houliston said the project aims to introduce children to God, including those with little or no knowledge of Christianity.

“There’re so many people out there that need to know God and don’t,” she said. “This is a resource that we’re using to try and reach the next generation so that they can know about God.”

Speaking at the launch, Adventist Media CEO Dr. Brad Kemp highlighted the importance of developing content that responds to the media habits of Generation Alpha, including their preference for visual storytelling, animation, and shorter formats.

He also explained the series’ strategic importance in two upcoming evangelistic initiatives. “The Rescue is going to be a major part of what we do in reaching our children in the OneVoice27 initiative, and then the following year, Australia for Christ,” Dr. Kemp said.

The series draws on biblical narratives and Ellen White’s Conflict of the Ages series, exploring the conflict between good and evil and the choices people make. The stories follow characters Jack and Melody as they discover how Bible stories relate to their everyday experiences.

The first episode and accompanying resources are available at therescue.au. A companion book exploring the Bible stories featured in the series is also planned for release in 2027.
