The Almuna family has believed in God for years. They used to attend a different denomination and even built a temple to worship with their neighbors and friends. However, they always felt that their desire for the Word of God to be studied in depth was not fulfilled in their congregation.

One day, Bernardita Retamal, Guido Almuna's wife, decided to look for different programming on television. When she arrived at the Nuevo Tiempo channel, from the city of Longaví, in central Chile, the impact was immediate.

The family, made up of husband and wife Bernardita Retamal and Guido Almuna and their children Ana Cecilia Almuna and Duván Almuna, began to notice that the Nuevo Tiempo TV programs required viewers to open their Bibles and offered biblical answers to difficult questions. Thus, they began to attend different programs and sermons, until one day, Ana Cecilia, who has hearing and speech difficulties, told her mother: “Why don't we call or write and ask them to send us a course or visit us?”.

TV Bible Studies at Home

This is how Pastor Fernando Ruíz, from the Miraflores Seventh-day Adventist Church, began visiting the family periodically to study the Bible with the courses on TV Nuevo Tiempo. They also began to attend church and become friends with the members of Miraflores. After a while, the pastor invited them to attend the baptismal ceremony of a young woman named Daniela, which took place in the church on May 14, 2024.

The family arrived at the temple as spectators, but God used His Word, Daniela's powerful testimony, and the ceremony sermon to touch the hearts of the Almuna. On that day, Pastor Andrés Denmark was a guest to baptize and deliver the message of God. When Daniela Vargas' baptismal ceremony began, the power went out throughout the province. Then, the cell phones lit up, the candles were brought out, the Adventist members began to sing, and the atmosphere became much more special. Daniela was baptized, and within minutes, an older adult named Héctor also agreed to go to the baptistery to give his life to God.

At that moment the miracle occurred. The Spirit of God, in the midst of darkness, touched the hearts of the Almuna family and at the moment of the call, they stood up and requested to be baptized that same night, in that same baptismal ceremony.

The night, which had only one baptism scheduled, became a ceremony where six people accepted God as their savior and gave their lives to Him. The Word of God never returns empty, God works miracles and uses all means to reach more people. The Nuevo Tiempo de Comunicación Network and the joint work they do with local churches make a difference in thousands of lives.
