Trying to influence the community towards better health habits, the Maleny Seventh-day Adventist Church in Queensland, Australia, started a plant-based cooking program on Sunday, November 27, 2022.

The first event featured the demonstration of two courses and a grazing table with a selection of plant-based cheeses, fresh and dried fruit, nuts, biscuits, and vegetables. Dr. Kathryn Jackson, a special guest speaker and hematologist, gave a presentation on the benefits of a plant-based diet.

According to Margaret Owens, the event organizer, the feedback was very positive. ”The demonstration and tasting were very well evaluated, which was most encouraging for future cooking programs. Most wished to attend further programs and bring along family members and friends to our next program,” she said.
