The Dourados Adventist School in Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, delivered donations collected through the Solidarity Bathtub project. The initiative, developed as part of the Thanksgiving activities of the Bilingual Program, seeking to help pregnant women in vulnerable situations treated by a hospital in Paraguay.
The project was inspired by reports about the reality faced by many pregnant women who arrive at the hospital carrying their few belongings in plastic bags, due to their precarious financial conditions. Each of the school's 22 classes was responsible for purchasing a bathtub and filling it with essential items for mothers and babies. The donations included disposable diapers, wet wipes, clothes, shoes, ointments, cotton, baby bottles, socks, pacifiers, and accessories, such as hair ties.
The culmination of the project was marked by a special event, in which school representatives and students took the bathtubs filled with items to Paraguay. The delivery, carried out in an atmosphere of welcome and gratitude, reinforced the importance of solidarity in times of difficulty.
The Solidarity Bathtub project stood out for uniting the school community around a common goal, promoting values such as empathy, generosity and social commitment. The action demonstrates the transformative role of education in initiatives that transcend the boundaries of the classroom, reaching lives in different realities.
