The South American Division's (SAD) Communications department has launched an online crisis management course based on the division's manual. The content discusses how to prevent incidents, build relationships with media outlets, and promptly communicate decisions.

“Reputation is extremely important for any organization, as it confers credibility and trustworthiness with people. It depends on what the organization itself says and how it is perceived,” said Felipe Lemos, SAD Communication department director.

"In the case of a church, this type of positive expectation is even greater, due to the set of shared values and principles. The Adventist Church sees a positive reputation as confirmation of its coherence and consistency in its actions," Lemos stated.

This course uses audiovisual material to deepen Adventist leaders' understanding of reputation management, including crisis management, and to reinforce the idea that crises are a natural part of any living organization.

Each of the eight lessons provides examples and explanations of reputation-building aspects. The content is free and available on 7class. Upon course completion, students will receive a certificate of completion.
