Carito Carbajal studied Language Education and currently works in Trujillo, located in northern Peru. Despite the Adventist influence of her mother from a very young age, Carito shares she always acted rebelliously, showing disinterest in religion and preferring metal rock music, as well as attending concerts and places where this type of music was played.
However, everything changed when she met Rafael Cedeño, who is currently her husband and works as an accountant and businessman in Trujillo. Despite having seen him at a metal rock event, they became friends, and began hanging out together. It was then that Rafael began to talk to her about the Seventh-day Adventist Church, mentioning his own ties to this religion and his desire to share beliefs with his partner.
From that moment on, Carito felt a growing curiosity to know more about God. Despite having visited several churches without finding satisfactory answers, they decided to attend the Philadelphia Seventh-day Adventist Church. Although at first she felt uncomfortable and disconcerted by the topics covered, they eventually found their place at the Nuevo Tiempo Bible School, a space within the church with a Bible study class offered on TV and radio, where they delved deeper in their understanding of faith and felt a deep call to surrender to God.
Finally, on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, during one of the Caravan of Hope programs that took place during Easter Week at the Mansiche Stadium in Trujillo, Carito and Rafael made the decision to be baptized. This act marked a new beginning in their lives, where they expressed their desire to follow God and accept His unconditional love as a couple committed to faith, in the presence of 25 thousand attendees at the venue.
Pastors Marcos Mostacero, leader of the Personal Ministry of the North Pacific region of Peru, and Javier Cabrera, coordinator of the Nuevo Tiempo Bible School in the same region, presided over the baptism. Cabrera highlighted the importance of the Bible School as an evangelism agency, seeking for people to know Jesus and be baptized after studying the Bible.
