The Pakistan Union Section (PKU) has completed a children’s center for children without parental care, Seventh-day Adventist Church leaders said, describing it as a new phase in local mission ministry.

The center was dedicated on December 11, 2025, during the union’s Annual Executive Committee meeting. Church leaders attending the dedication included Kang SoonGi, president of the Northern Asia-Pacific Division.

According to leaders, the project required an investment of approximately US$150,000. The building measures 24 meters long, 20 meters wide, and 5 meters high, and is designed to care for approximately 50 children.

According to PKU, the vision for the center began with the long-held prayer of a local church member from Valley Church in California, United States. For many years, she prayed to establish a place where children without parents could live in a safe environment, receive care rooted in faith, and come to know Jesus Christ.

Church leaders said her involvement helped develop a partnership between Valley Church and PKU, which supported the construction of the facility and the development of an ongoing ministry model intended to address local needs.

Both partners expected the center to serve both as a residential care facility and as a mission hub supporting the surrounding community and the next generation.

While construction has been completed, church leaders said additional resources are still needed to support daily operations. The center urgently needs essential furnishings, including beds, desks, and other basic necessities. Additionally, the ministry must secure stable operational funding to provide long-term care and support for children.

Former PKU president Lee MyunJu emphasized the need for continued support, saying, “The children’s center needs ongoing financial assistance and the interest of the global church to become firmly established. I sincerely thank everyone who has supported this project through prayer and financial contributions. I also ask for continued prayers and support for the new PKU President, Gee Sungbae, for the mission work in Pakistan.”
