On July 6, 2025, during the 62nd General Conference (GC) Session in St. Louis, Missouri, delegates elected Audrey E. Andersson as one of seven general vice presidents of the Seventh-day Adventist Church for the 2025–2030 quinquennium.
Born in Ireland and raised in a pastor’s family, Andersson developed a heart for ministry from a young age. She earned her BA in theology from Newbold College in England, and later established a successful career in journalism and communications before transitioning into denominational leadership.
After working as Legal Editor at Estates Gazette and founding a communication consultancy in Sweden, Andersson accepted a call in 2003 to serve as secretary of the Swedish Union of Churches Conference. In 2010, she became secretary of the Trans-European Division, where she emphasized a culturally relevant, mission-focused approach to leadership.
Andersson has also contributed to the development of the GraceLink Sabbath School Curriculum and pioneered outreach events such as summer festivals across Europe. She was honored with the General Conference Woman of Excellence Award in 2016 and the British Union Conference Women in Leadership Award in 2020.
She holds a master’s degree in pastoral ministry and is a commissioned pastor. In 2022, Andersson was elected as a general vice president of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
The election is part of the broader decision-making process of the GC Session, where global delegates gather every five years for worship, prayer, and organizational leadership decisions.
