In Pakistan, a powerful movement is underway to nurture children’s spiritual growth through the collaborative efforts of parents, pastors, and Adventist Children’s Ministries (CHM) leaders. The initiatives, spearheaded by the Pakistan Union Section, aim to instill Christian values and the importance of faith in the hearts of young ones.

The Parent Guide School initiative is one of the essential programs working towards this goal. It emphasizes parents’ critical role in guiding their children to grow in fellowship with Jesus. By fostering a strong partnership between the home and Sabbath Schools, the initiative helps integrate faith into children’s daily lives. This effort ensures that Christian values are not confined to the Sabbath but woven into everyday life’s fabric.

Parents are encouraged to model Christ-like behavior at home, engage in regular prayer and Bible study with their children, and motivate them to participate in church activities. This comprehensive approach has yielded remarkable results, with many children accepting Jesus Christ as their savior. According to Farzana Yaqub, CHM director of the PKU, “By the grace of God, 65 Sabbath School children have accepted Jesus Christ as their savior and friend.”

Another significant aspect of this movement is teaching children the importance of tithing. This practice instills values of generosity and responsibility and deepens their connection to their spiritual journey. Encouraging children to set aside a portion of their allowance or gifts as tithes helps them understand the importance of giving back to their community and supporting their faith.

As these children grow, tithing fosters financial discipline and strengthens their spiritual commitment. Yaqub shares an inspiring example: “By the grace of God, about 250 children are practicing paying tithes. I met a couple in Mehran Town Church who do not have children yet but have decided to pay tithes for their future baby.”

This approach aligns with the biblical teaching, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and even when he is old he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6). By instilling these values early on, the initiative ensures that children grow into spiritually strong and responsible adults.

The collaborative efforts between parents, Sabbath Schools, and CHM leaders in Pakistan are significantly impacting children’s spiritual lives.
