On January 25, 2025, the Academy of Sports in Bucha hosted the charity event “Give the Child a Holiday!” organized by ADRA Ukraine.
The event, which raised awareness about the challenges faced by children affected by conflict, featured performances by Ukrainian singer Nataliya Mogilevska. The primary focus of the event was to highlight children who have lost parental care due to the ongoing conflict, including internally displaced persons (IDPs) and those living in boarding schools.
Over 100 children attended the event, which included various contests and a mini-football tournament.
Olexander Alyshev, a representative from ADRA Ukraine, facilitated gift giving for all attending children.
Children from Borodyanka, Bucha, Hostomel, and Pushcha-Voditsa were among the attendees, engaging in activities designed to uplift their spirits and provide joy. In a related effort, an art therapy workshop for children was held at the ADRA Ukraine Protection and Support Center in Kyiv on January 29.

The workshop, titled “Giving Joy with Love,” attracted seven participants, particularly from IDP families. Conducted within the “SMHUF” project, which is supported by ADRA Sweden and the Swedish charitable organization Radiohjälpen, the session was led by psychologist Natalia Konopkina and facilitator Zhanna Prus.
During the workshop, children explored their emotional responses and expressed creativity by making handmade valentines. The program seeks to help children discover new means of emotional expression and is scheduled to occur regularly, once or twice each month.
