Heavy rainfall in northern Peru, due to the passage of Cyclone Yaku, has caused flooding, road blockages, material damage, dozens of fatalities, and more than 12,000 victims. In response to this situation, the national chapter of the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA Peru) activated its emergency humanitarian response protocol to send hot food rations to those affected by the natural phenomenon.

The objective is to provide hot food for 5 days: 2,000 rations (breakfasts and lunches) for the city of Pacasmayo, in the region of La Libertad; 2,000 rations (lunches) for Morrope, in the region of Lambayeque; and 3,000 food rations (lunches) for the district of La Esperanza, in the city of Trujillo—totaling 7,000 daily rations of hot food to help the victims.

This ADRA Peru campaign is called "Together for the North" and has considered the various needs, seeing fit to prioritize the food security of those affected. In order to get more food to the affected areas in the coming days, the agency is promoting the donation of S/80 (approx. US$20), which will be useful to help a family for five days.

Solidarity institutions such as UNION, Radio Nuevo Tiempo, the Adventist Medical Network, Peruvian Union University, Radio Exitosa, and the Adventist Church have already joined this noble cause.
