As dawn broke in Peru, plazas, parks, churches, and homes began to fill with prayer. At 5:30am on September 5, Seventh-day Adventists from the coast, highlands, and jungle connected to seek God and renew their calling to share the gospel. This was the launch of the OneVoice27 global initiative in southern Peru, organized by the South Peru Union Mission (UPS).

Through a live program on the Facebook account “Adventistas UPS” broadcast at the same time, the event enabled real-time interaction with pastors and church members across the region.

Mission for all

The program began the previous evening with the OneVoice27 Mission Call. Small groups gathered to praise God, listen to testimonies, and pray for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. At dawn on Saturday, the church went out into public spaces to make its commitment to the mission visible. At 7am, social media amplified this movement when church members simultaneously turned their digital platforms into spaces to talk about God.

The day continued at 11am with a Commitment Sermon. Every church member was invited to personally respond to the missionary call. In various locations throughout the country, people decided to give their lives to Christ through baptism.

In the afternoon, the OneVoice27 District Launch and the OneVoice27 Fair, where different departments presented initiatives to involve more members in the mission, began. The day concluded with photographs and rousing speeches in each church.
