From March 6–11, 2026, the Seventh-day Adventist General Conference (GC) Women’s Ministries (WM) Department hosted its global advisory at the denominational headquarters. This quintennial summit serves as a critical strategic forum, typically held the year following a General Conference Session, to synchronize international mission priorities with the specific needs of regional territories.

Strategic alignment and global representation

The advisory brought together WM directors from the Adventist Church's global divisions to facilitate administrative cohesion and long-term planning. While the majority of the delegation participated on-site in Silver Spring, Maryland, United States, provisions for virtual attendance ensured that leaders facing travel constraints remained fully integrated into the proceedings.

Despite the vast diversity of cultures and languages represented, the sessions highlighted a unified professional objective: the spiritual development and support of women within their respective global territories.

Key initiatives and collaborative advocacy

The week’s agenda featured departmental resources and outreach strategies. Significant emphasis was placed on abuse recovery initiatives. Leaders focused on reviewing and refining programs designed to support survivors.

Additionally, an enditnow® panel featured leaders from various GC departments, focusing on a unified organizational stance against violence and the continued expansion of the global advocacy campaign.

Observances and cultural engagement

The advisory coincided with the International Day of Prayer (IDOP). Leaders paused scheduled deliberations to observe the day and review reports from prayer events occurring simultaneously across the globe. This alignment underscored the active role of women in the spiritual life of the international church.

Additionally, the delegation participated in a visit to the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C., providing historical and cultural context to the scriptural foundations that inform the department’s mission.
