South Bangladesh Mission Celebrates 30th Anniversary of Women’s Ministries

On August 1, 2025, the South Bangladesh Mission (SBM) of Seventh-day Adventists held a celebration marking the 30th anniversary of Women’s Ministries. The event brought together approximately 45 to 50 women, along with their spouses and mission officers, to honor three decades of empowering and equipping women for service in the church and community.

SBM is one of the local missions within the Bangladesh Adventist Union Mission (BAUM), which operates under the Northern Asia-Pacific Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

The event was thoughtfully organized by Mahuya Roy, Women’s Ministries director of the Bangladesh Adventist Union Mission (BAUM), in collaboration with Monju Falia, Women’s Ministries director of SBM.

In her keynote address, Roy reflected on the global journey of Women’s Ministries since its establishment in 1995, highlighting its achievements and exploring ways to encourage continued growth in Bangladesh. Falia followed with practical insights into the responsibilities and opportunities of Women’s Ministries at the local mission level.

Timothy Roy, BAUM secretary, led a reflective session on the unique qualities and God-given roles of women in ministry.

A question-and-answer session followed, addressing challenges faced by women, strategies for overcoming them, and casting a shared vision for the future of Women’s Ministries.

The celebration concluded with a symbolic candle-lighting ceremony and a cake-cutting, marking the worldwide anniversary in a spirit of unity and joy.
