More than 250 Seventh-day Adventist university students from across Europe met for the second European student congress Nov. 1 to 3 in Eisenberg, Germany.

The congress, sponsored by the Adventist Church in the Euro-Africa region and organized by the church’s youth department in Germany, is a project of Adventist Ministry to College and University Students (AMICUS), and is supported by Adventist youth and education staff in that region.

The theme of the congress was: “Can we today walk in the steps of the Reformers?” Participants were invited to reflect and discuss the topic, “What needs to be reformed in the Adventist Church today?”

Students and university graduates came from Austria, the Czech Republic, Belgium, France, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain and Switzerland.

AMICUS is an inter-departmental support program for more than 150,000 Adventist students attending non-Adventist colleges and universities around the world. Working in cooperation with regional representatives, AMICUS fosters the organization of Adventist student fellowships, provides training for campus chaplains, and publishes an international network journal in four languages.

The first European student congress took place in Lloret de Mar, Spain, in 1999. The third European AMICUS congress is set for 2005. For more information visit www.studentcongress.info.
