Nearly 9,000 youth from across southern Brazil came together in Iguacu Falls, Parana, for a five-day "camporee," the eighth convention held by Pathfinders in the region.
Nearly 9,000 youth from across southern Brazil came together in Iguacu Falls, Parana, for a five-day “camporee,” the eighth convention held by Pathfinders in the region.
Pathfinders, a worldwide organization of young people operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, helped in various projects in Iguacu Falls, such as cleaning rivers and planting trees, voluntary blood donation, and collection of food items and toys, and participated in recreational challenges as well.
“We took all of our strength and human warmth to the people who live in Iguacu Falls,” says Elias Brenha, an Adventist pastor in the region. “We took them friendship, solidarity and hope. This was our great challenge.”
Pathfinders range in age from 10 to 15 years old. Activities are held in the areas of education, community services, civic ceremonies, spiritual reflection and sporting events. The club is open to any religious denomination.
