Seventh-day Adventists in Brazil are making October a month for Bible stories aimed at young people. With biblical accounts presented from playful and creative perspectives, the Portuguese-language project called Telling the Bible to Kids (Contando a Biblia Kids) is on the air.
There will be 31 stories, one for each day in the month. “It is a gift and an online option for children who remain at home, without face-to-face classes after the most intense period of social detachment,” explains teacher Regená Baptista, project and leader of the Ministry of Children of Adventist Church for Eastern Mato Grosso, Brazil.

Teachers and volunteers from cities including Brasília (DF), Maringá (PR), São Paulo (SP), and Mato Grosso state (from cities such as Água Boa, Campo Verde, Cuiabá and Lucas do Rio Verde)—and even from the United States—came together to tell the stories interactively, using materials and resources they had at home.

Stories such as when Jesus walked on the Sea of Galilee, or when God answered Moses' prayer and made water sprout from a rock to quench the thirst of the people of Israel and that of King Josiah, who became king at the age of eight, stand out in the series.

“In all the videos, the children will be able to learn the details of the day's story, and then a proposal for reflection or a practical activity is made, as a way to make the experience even more fun,” Regená said.

The first stories of the project Telling the Bible to Kids are now available on the Adventist East Mato Grosso YouTube channel .
