Across villages, towns, and cities in Sri Lanka, a growing Seventh-day Adventist prayer movement led by women is bringing renewed spiritual vitality to local churches. In many congregations, women are gathering regularly to lead prayer meetings, initiatives that are evolving beyond routine programs into active expressions of faith and ministry.

Participants are not only committed to praying together but also to responding to the needs around them. They intercede for their families, support their churches, and extend care into their communities through acts of service and compassion. Through these efforts, they are demonstrating a faith that is both lived and shared.

The impact of this movement is becoming increasingly evident. Many report renewed hearts, restored relationships, and a deepening spiritual hunger within their congregations. Participants have expressed that by placing communion with God at the center of their lives, they are witnessing a transformation that reaches far beyond their prayer gatherings.

The region's Women’s Ministries director emphasized the value of prayer, saying, “Every minute we spend in prayer is valuable.”

Leaders also noted that the movement is highlighting the role of women in advancing the church’s mission. Through prayer, participants are contributing to the spiritual development of their homes, churches, and communities.

“This movement is not a temporary trend but is expected to lead to sustained spiritual growth and revival,” leaders said, adding that women-led prayer gatherings are expected to continue playing a key role in strengthening both church life and community relationships.
