According to a survey by the newspaper Der Tagesspiegel (English, “The Daily Mirror”) among the resident doctors in Berlin, the best recommendations went to the Gynecology and Obstetrics Department and the Breast Center of Waldfriede Hospital. Both departments received awards in the areas of “Gynecological surgery for benign diseases” and “Therapy for breast cancer”. Ingo Bach, editor-in-chief for health projects at Der Tagesspiegel, handed over the relevant certificates to the two chief physicians, Dr. Florian Müller (Head of Gynecology and Obstetrics) and Dr. Barbara Brückner (Chief Physician of the Breast Center).
Almost 2,400 resident doctors from Berlin took part in the Der Tagesspiegel survey and made a total of 16,000 recommendations. According to the paper, this corresponds to a participation rate of over 38 percent. The final results were obtained from two sets of data: on the one hand, experience (number of cases), and on the other hand, reputation (doctor survey).
Hospital board member Bernd Quoss was pleased about the renewed award and pointed out that Waldfriede Hospital is not only one of the best clinics regionally, but also worldwide (award from Newsweek Magazine—see APD report of April 29, 2021, at https: //www.apd.info/2021/04/29/krankenhaus-waldfriede-in-berlin-gehoert-zu-den-besten-krankenhaeusern-in-deutschland-und-der-welt/), and generally enjoys a very good reputation.
