The cleanliness of the city is part of the ministry of the church

Early Sunday morning, everyone who wanted to work gathered around the Church. The men, who were also the drivers, took the participants to their place of work for the day - a playground located in a residential area.

The church members took their tools with them, and the representatives of the landscaping department brought other tools as well. At first, it seemed to everyone that the playground looked quite dignified, but after a closer look, sleeves were rolled up as the work demanded diligence, and bags of trash and last year's leaves soon filled a large trash container.

In less than an hour, everything was done. Working together, the believers quickly cleared the play area of ​​any debris. A significant role in the fact that everything was done so quickly was due to the large number of participants. Many brothers and sisters have been receptive to being invited to help clean up the city.

While preparing for a common photo as a souvenir, we remembered the areas in the city of Taganrog that Seventh-dayAdventists had helped to clean up over the years. This includes the famous Oak Grove in the city, an abandoned forest near the railway station, and beach areas on the shores of the Azov Sea. There are countless playgrounds where Adventists have put things in order to the amazement of residents who have not seen such enthusiasm in their communities for a long time.

In the territorial administration of the Northern micro-district, the City Administration knows Seventh-day Adventists well and appreciates their desire to work for the good of others. God says in one of the texts of the Bible: “... and take care of the welfare of the city to which I have moved you, and pray to the Lord for it; for with his prosperity, there will be peace to you also ”(Jeremiah 29: 7).

Taking care of the city in which a person lives is an inalienable responsibility of a Christian. And not only a duty, but also a great blessing.
