The Adventist Institute of Technology (IATec) announced that it has achieved ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, one of the most prestigious international information security models. This fact attests that the institution implements and follows rigorous security management practices in its operational processes.

This ensures that information is protected against a variety of threats, including unauthorized access, privacy breaches, and data loss. This translates into an additional layer of protection and peace of mind for users of the Adventist Church and its institutions, who entrust their data to IATec.

Systems developed by IATec are present in more than 120 countries and are used by more than two million users. Therefore, achieving this certification goes beyond technical recognition. It is concrete proof that the institution places information security as a priority in its work.

“Our goal is not only to provide technological innovation but also to ensure that our employees and users can fully trust in the integrity and protection of their data,” says Samuel Alvea Braga, Information Security manager.

This is particularly relevant for the Seventh-day Adventist Church and its institutions, whose members use IATec systems for administrative, educational, financial, and managerial purposes. ISO 27001 certification therefore guarantees that advanced security measures are constantly applied and updated.

Collaboration Made it Possible

However, this result was possible due to the commitment and dedication of a team committed to implementing the best information management practices and continuously improving its internal systems. “We are extremely proud of this achievement, which is the result of the joint efforts of a team aligned with our values of excellence and innovation,” highlights Braga.

“Collaboration, commitment, and passion from everyone were key to overcoming the challenges and delivering exceptional results,” said Carlise Bulati, a lawyer at IATec. “This ISO 27001 certification in Information Security is a testament to what we can achieve when we work together for a common goal.”

By following the models required by ISO/IEC 27001:2022, IATec not only improves its technological infrastructure but also positions itself as a reference in information security within the Adventist ecosystem.

The certification reinforces IATec's commitment to investing in continuous improvements, ensuring that the protection of personal and sensitive data remains at the core of its operations. The Institute will continue to follow the path of responsible innovation in which security, trust, and credibility remain the pillars that support its work in support of the mission of the Adventist Church.

IATec was created to meet the technological demands of the denomination, and is made up of professionals who seek solutions in a creative, fast and efficient manner. It is not a technology company, since it serves the Seventh-day Adventist Church directly and solely, in addition to using its resources and results to expand missionary work.

The institution began its activities in 2016 in Hortolandia, in the interior of São Paulo, Brazil. The city chosen for the headquarters is considered a major technological hub in Brazil. Since then, it has been working to provide secure technology for all areas of the denomination.
