With the slogan, "Do not stain your flag", in commemoration of the day of the Bolivian flag, and the "Basta de Silencio" campaign of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, more than 250 students, parents, and administrators of the Carreño Ortuño Adventist School from Cliza in Cochabamba, Bolivia participated in an educational march to help prevent abuse and violence of all kinds and towards all genders.
On Tuesday, August 17th, the students took to the streets in vehicles, carrying banners with messages such as: "Education is the vaccine against violence and ignorance", "Do not stain your flag, Bolivia without violence", "Put an end to it”, and others. The tour extended from the Carreño Ortuño Adventist School to the offices of the Autonomous Municipal Government of Cliza.
The Municipal Mayor of Cliza, Lic. Linberth Andia, the representative of the Municipal Council, Prof. Daniel Inturias, and the representatives of the Ombudsman's Office for Children and Women, received the participants and gave words of encouragement and thanks to all who were present for their support and for bringing attention to the issue. They indicated that Adventist education, in addition to being an educational entity that trains students and professionals with ethical principles and values, also has an interest in positively helping the Cochabambina community.
Lic. Vanessa Ronquillo, Director of the Ministry of Children and Adolescents of the Central Bolivian Mission, Mg. Judith Ayala, Director of Adventist Education in the Central Bolivian Mission and Lic. Abraham Choque, Director of the Carreño Ortuño School, represented and led this event. Thus, they also thanked the participants and requested dissemination and support for these educational projects. Finally, they called for reflection and they made those present aware of the danger and consequences of not reporting violence.
