On October 5, 2021, after a year's forced break, the tenth sponsored run took place. At the previous sponsored run, in September 2019, the Marienhöhe pupils ran a total of around 5,000 laps, raising almost €30,000. The donations of 2019 went to two projects: the construction of a photovoltaic system at a partner school in Cambodia and to the German Children's Heart Foundation.

Due to the pandemic, the latest run has been organized with the necessary hygiene protection measures. There were relay starts so that the distance rule was observed during the run. All runners received a starting number with an integrated chip for the professional timekeeping system.

"Through the digitalization of the fundraising process, in 2021, we were able to simplify the process of finding sponsors many times over," said Dr. Christian Noack, general manager of the school center. “The willingness to participate among the students and teachers was so strong. Thus, €38,579 were raised.”

The donations from the sponsored run will go to three projects in Germany and abroad: to support children in need through the Darmstadt District Association of the Kinderschutzbund; to support the partner school and orphanage in Cambodia; and to support the "Education helps" project in Romania.

Marienhöhe Campus pastor, Mircea Riesz, explains the work with disadvantaged children in Romania. "We help children with their school problems and work with them to help them get through school. The donations provide financial support for homework supervision and extracurricular educational activities.”
