Pastor David Jack will take over as chief executive officer and executive director for the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) in the South Pacific on July 1.
Jack has worked as a church minister in a variety of roles in New South Wales, Queensland, New Zealand and, most recently, led the Mile End Community Church, a Seventh-day Adventist Church plant in the northwestern suburbs of Sydney. He has also worked as a departmental director for the church in southern Queensland.
Jack is completing a Master of Arts in Leadership and Management at Avondale College, the church’s tertiary institution in Cooranbong, New South Wales. He also has wider experience in the community-service industry, including working as a counselor and director of human services organizations.
“I’ve always had a passion for community ministry, and ADRA provides unique opportunities for Christians to connect with people,” says Jack. “ADRA’s ministry is all about living the gospel through meeting the needs of people… By empowering people through education and support, they are then in a position to serve others and thus multiply the efforts of organizations such as ADRA.”
“The mission of the Adventist Church finds significant expression through serving people in the community,” Jack explains. “ADRA offers a broad range of opportunities in all parts of the South Pacific and internationally for church members to participate in the mission of the church.”
