On July 6, 2025, during the 62nd General Conference (GC) Session in St. Louis, Missouri, delegates elected Selom Kwasi Sessou as an associate secretary of the Seventh-day Adventist Church for the 2025–2030 quinquennium.

Sessou brings more than two decades of ministry experience and more than 13 years in church administration at mission, union, and division levels. He most recently served as secretary of the West-Central Africa Division and has also held leadership roles in youth ministries, communication, evangelism, and human resources.

Ordained to the gospel ministry, Sessou is known for his commitment to empowering young people for spiritual growth and service. He holds a Doctor of Ministry degree from the Adventist University of Africa with a concentration in youth and young adult ministry.

He is married to Omobonike Adeola Sessou, and together they have four children.

The election is part of the broader decision-making process of the GC Session, where global delegates gather every five years for worship, prayer, and organizational leadership decisions.
