Two institutions owned by the Seventh-day Adventist Church—Novo Tempo Records and the food company Superbom—recently received an official tribute from the São Paulo City Council in Brazil.

Novo Tempo Records is marking its 30th anniversary, while Superbom celebrates 100 years of providing healthy food products in Brazil. Novo Tempo is the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s media network in Brazil, operating television, radio, and music production to share faith-based messages.

The ceremony, held in the Noble Hall of the Anchieta Palace, was supported by Councilman Isac Félix, who praised the social contributions of both organizations.

“In this day and age, having a record label and a TV channel that convey a message of hope is extremely important,” Félix said. “Many people are suffering and facing hardships, and an uplifting word makes all the difference. We’re happy to recommend a station with a unique message that can change lives.”

The councilman also highlighted how partnerships can support health and well-being: “Here, we’ve developed several bills with the community in mind. For example, Superbom develops quality products, and perhaps we could include them in children’s school meals.”

Centennial of Superbom

Founded a century ago by students of the former Brazilian Adventist College, Superbom began as a small initiative and has grown into a nationwide brand.

Today the company, based in São Paulo with a branch in Santa Catarina, offers more than 60 products, from whole-grain juices to plant-based meats, honey, and grains.

Superbom also distributes Granix products from Argentina, reaching more than 15,000 points of sale across Brazil.

“Celebrating our centennial with this tribute is splendid,” said Joel Distler, president of Superbom. “One hundred years are made by people, and we want to remember the beginning of it all. It’s a great privilege to continue this legacy and bring health and quality of life to people.”

Novo Tempo Records at 30

Novo Tempo Records, which manages around 70 singers across Brazil, also received recognition for its 30 years of activity. The label produces music focused on messages of faith and hope.

“Receiving this recognition shows that Novo Tempo’s music has touched people and reached every corner of this city,” said Isaias Bueno, manager of Novo Tempo Records. “We’ve been on this mission for 30 years, and we’re confident that we’ll continue making music that touches the heart.”

Music was a central feature of the event, with performances from the group Worsheep App, singer Weslley Fonseca of Novo Tempo Records, and the well-known Christian quartet Arautos do Rei.

Tribute to Antonio Tostes

The celebration also honored Pastor Antonio Tostes, general director of the Novo Tempo Communication Network, who has served more than 40 years in the Adventist Church and over 15 years at Novo Tempo.

“I was very happy to be here for this celebration of the Recording Company’s 30th anniversary, which coincides with the beginning of the Novo Tempo Network,” Tostes said. “I feel honored and privileged, and I receive with great humility this tribute that means a lot to me.”

Tostes, who will retire later this year, added: “The formal work may end, but the pastoral work will continue.”
