On July 6, 2025, during the 62nd General Conference (GC) Session in St. Louis, Missouri, delegates elected Robert Osei-Bonsu as one of seven general vice presidents of the Seventh-day Adventist Church for the 2025–2030 quinquennium.
Osei-Bonsu most recently served as president of the West-Central Africa Division (WAD), where he led the Impact 2025 evangelistic initiative to strengthen mission outreach and church growth across the region. Prior to that, he held leadership positions in both church and academic settings, including president and vice chancellor roles at Valley View University in Ghana and dean of the theological seminary at Adventist University of Africa.
Ordained in 1998, Osei-Bonsu has served in pastoral ministry in Africa and Europe, including time as a senior pastor in the South England Conference. He is widely recognized for his mentorship, community engagement, and scholarly contributions in theological education.
He holds a bachelor’s in theological studies, two master’s degrees, in biblical theology and educational leadership, and a doctorate in historical theological studies.
Known for empowering others and building sustainable, mission-focused systems, Osei-Bonsu brings a blend of vision, scholarship, and servant leadership to the global stage.
The election is part of the broader decision-making process of the GC Session, where global delegates gather every five years for worship, prayer, and organizational leadership decisions.
