Thanks to the financial support of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and donations from the Ángeles de Esperanza (Angels of Hope), the goal of having an FM signal of Radio Nuevo Tiempo in the city of Antofagasta, “The Pearl of the North,” is now a reality. The city, which has the highest per-capita income in Chile and more than 390,000 inhabitants, can now tune in to "The Voice of Hope."
Patricio Olivares, general director of the Nuevo Tiempo Network in Chile, commented on the matter: “Acquiring a radio station in the city of Antofagasta is a great dream and a miracle, because originally that radio station was not available to be granted or sold, but a miracle from a previous failed concession allowed that radio station to be available for acquisition again, so it is a dream come true and we thank God for it,” he said.
“The arrival of 100.9 FM to the city of Antofagasta is an achievement for us, it is getting closer to that goal of continuing to grow within the country with more Nuevo Tiempo stations. With this one, it would be number forty, which means that within the Christian world, the Seventh-day Adventist Church has a prevalence in what is the preaching of the Gospel, through communications. So for us it is a joy, it is a blessing that many more people continue to know about Jesus,” said Norianny López, director of Radio Nuevo Tiempo in Chile.
This great achievement would not have been possible without God's guidance and the financial support of the Seventh-day Adventist Church along with the Angels of Hope.
Walter Ferloni, financial director of the Nuevo Tiempo Network in Chile, mentioned, “From the Northern Association of Chile to the southern part of the country, the entire church participated in the purchase of the new radio for the city of Antofagasta. In addition, thanks to donations from the Angels of Hope, this project is now a reality.”
Next Goal on Nuevo Tiempo TV
The new Radio Nuevo Tiempo signal in Antofagasta is just the beginning. The next goal for TV Nuevo Tiempo is to establish an open signal in Chillán and Talca, which are the regional capitals of Chile. To achieve this, the support from the Nuevo Tiempo 2024 National Offering, scheduled for Saturday, December 7, 2024, is crucial.
The Nuevo Tiempo Annual Offering is a special program that showcases the work of Nuevo Tiempo Chile's radio, TV, and social media to spread the message of hope and transform the lives of people in the country, with the goal of obtaining donations to continue with that mission. Nuevo Tiempo is supported by donations since it does not sell advertising to generate income like other media outlets. This is because it focuses on broadcasting programming that helps improve the physical, mental, family, financial, and spiritual life of the public without distractions.
Ivonne Caruajulca, director of the Angels of Hope department for the country and director of the Annual Nuevo Tiempo Offering 2024, explains how to participate in this project, “We invite you to participate in the Annual Nuevo Tiempo Offering this Saturday, December 7, in all churches and digital media. How can you participate? Through the different means of donation, in your local church, you are invited, you cannot miss it.”
There are many stories about the impact that the Nuevo Tiempo message has on people's lives, and some of these stories are shared during the Nuevo Tiempo Annual Offering programming. This helps to show the importance of the Adventist media outlet in fulfilling the mission of preaching the gospel and reaching more people with the message of hope. And all of this is possible thanks to donations.
“The answer to my prayer”
One such case is that of Diana Chagüendo. In her youth, she encountered God, but when she tried to get closer to Him by reading the Bible, she struggled to understand it. In her prayers, she asked God to send someone who could help her. Shortly after, she came across a Nuevo Tiempo post on social media that read, "Do you want to study the Bible?" She responded to the invitation. The Nuevo Tiempo Bible School contacted her right away and began studying the Bible with her via Zoom in the evenings.
The courses were fundamental for growing her spiritual life and filling the void she felt. Nuevo Tiempo was the answer to her requests for direction and guidance.
