Recently, a total of 162 Adventist leaders from across the Philippines convened from January 20–23, 2025, to chart the course for Harvest 2025, billed as the Church’s most ambitious evangelism initiative in the Philippines to date.
Harvest 2025 is the Southern Asia-Pacific region’s response to the worldwide Total Member Involvement (TMI) initiative—an effort of the global Seventh-day Adventist Church urging every congregation and member to actively share their faith using Christ’s example of caring for people.
Laying the Groundwork
Attendees engaged in strategic discussions to ensure the success of Harvest 2025, a year-long, coordinated effort that seeks to mobilize all levels of the Church to spread its message of hope throughout the nation. Topics included branding, media evangelism, disciple-making, small-group ministries, and forming friendships that naturally lead to sharing faith.
Participants also delved into the Adventist Church’s biblical and theological foundations, exploring how elements of prophecy and the Church’s historical emphasis on the Three Angels’ Messages align with modern evangelism approaches.
Leveraging Media
A highlight of the gathering was an announcement from Hope Channel Philippines, the Church’s official television network, unveiling plans for a simultaneous nationwide broadcast. Organizers say this large-scale media push will tap digital and traditional platforms to reach diverse communities across the archipelago.
Leader Insights
Many who attended came away energized by both the spiritual and practical components of the event.
“The theological and biblical review based on the Adventist Church’s existence was so profound,” said Joel Caspe, ministerial coordinator in South-Central Luzon. “It’s inspiring to see how God has a plan to redeem humanity and that we can be part of it.”
“The landscape of evangelism has changed dramatically,” added Renante Bareja, executive secretary of the South Luzon Region. “Digital technology speeds up our ability to reach people. It’s amazing to see how modern tools can spread timeless truths.”
Moving Forward
Beyond planning, the event offered a spiritual boost for attendees, who now return to their respective regions with the shared goal of uniting the entire denomination in the Philippines. Church leaders are confident that Harvest 2025 will set new benchmarks in evangelism and community engagement, paving the way for other faith-based initiatives to follow.
As festival-goers continue celebrating in the streets of Cebu, Adventist leaders leave their strategy sessions with a different kind of excitement—one rooted in the hope of reaching even more people through an unprecedented, nationwide outreach effort.
