Packed and ready to help those in need

Sydney, Australia | Record Staff

More than 200 cartons and bags of donated items have been packed and labeled “ready” to be sent to Papua New Guinea as part of the Operation Food For Life independent ministry.
Packed by a small group of volunteers, the bags contain pre-loved and new clothing, toys, wraps, blankets, sheets, school resources, mobility aids, baby items, furniture, and knitted teddy bears. The items will go to families living in poverty.

“We have been abundantly blessed by so many kind-hearted people who donated these items,” OFFL founder Dennis Perry says.

“In fact, we have so much, we have had to suspend taking any more items at this time.”

Meanwhile, children at the OFFL Kivori Poe Learning Centre received a hygiene kit recently that was made and donated by the children, families, and teachers in the Sabbath school kindergarten class at Wahroonga Adventist Church (Sydney, NSW).

The kit includes soap, washcloth, comb, toothbrush, toothpaste, and other items.

Perry says the children were very happy to receive the items. “A wonderful example of Christianity in action through kids helping kids,” he says.
