"This first permanent home of the Geoscience Research Institute provides an excellent facility for this important ministry," said Lowell Cooper, a vice president of the Adventist Church worldwide

The Geoscience Research Institute (GRI) recently dedicated a new office facility on the grounds of Loma Linda University, California.  Established by the Seventh-day Adventist Church in 1958 with the goal of integrating science and faith, GRI produces original research and engages in current scientific debates on topics ranging from theories of origins to the interpretation of archeological discoveries.

“This first permanent home of the Geoscience Research Institute provides an excellent facility for this important ministry,” said Lowell Cooper, a vice president of the Adventist Church worldwide, who spoke at the October 23 dedication.  Also taking part in the ceremony were Matthew Bediako, secretary of the Adventist Church, and Neal Wilson, a former world church president. The Ortner Building was financed by the Ortner family, private Adventist donors, along with funding from the Adventist Church’s General Conference.
