More than 200 people traveled in the Time Machine at the Time to Love family camp

Undoubtedly, the pandemic and the lockdowns, quarantine, and restrictions that have come with it, has negatively impacted family relationships. Because of this, two Seventh-day Adventist professors decided to come up with an unconventional way to help families improve their relationships. After much thought and discussion, they created an experience that allowed families to journey through different times and themes via a “time-machine.” The time machine experience lasted for seven days - each day focusing on a different theme as follows: friendship, appreciation, joy, a good heart, hospitality, inspiration, reconciliation and day of the covenant. The overarching theme of the program was, “A Time to Love!”

The experience was designed in such a way that each experience told a story that, in the end, helped provide solutions to different issues and situations that may arise in a typical family. Throughout the event, the participants also “traveled” to different parts of the world to help emphasize the theme of the day through historical sites. The destinations and historical sites included: the Taj Mahal in India in the 17th century; the home of Pollyanna in the United States of America; the family of John and Mary Mueller in Bristol, England in the middle of the 19th century; the Ukrainian Vechornitsi; a visit to Henry Ford and his wife in Detroit, Michigan, USA in the 19th century; and a small village in Romania to visit a Reconciliation Room.

Throughout this special camping event, the attendees also participated in informative seminars and training, Bible lessons and sermons, interactive activities with their children, exciting family quests, sports games, contests, morning exercises, new family songs, romantic evenings, a rededication of families, delicious and healthy food - all of which will be remembered by the camp participants for a long time!

The camp organizers encouraged the participants to accept the path that God designed for their family. They encouraged them to accept all of the opportunities and obstacles that they will meet in their journey through life as part of His plan. It is their desire that each individual family member would never take their eyes off of Jesus, as He will certainly lead them to the heavenly Canaan.

This unusual camping event was a great success thanks to God and a friendly and dedicated planning team. 

More than 200 people, including 37 non-Adventists, came from different parts of Ukraine, Greece, and Poland to attend.
