In the Amaluza parish, a community with deep religious traditions located in the province of Loja in southern Ecuador, this year’s missionary book is making a notable impact.

The Key to Change has reached dozens of homes due to the efforts of volunteers from the Global Mission initiative of the South Ecuador Mission (Misión Ecuatoriana del Sur, MES), the region's Adventist Church headquarters.

The project began in May 2025 with support from the local Education District, which facilitated access to educational institutions for presentations on social and emotional topics related to family well-being. Members of the local police force also participated in these sessions.

As a result of the initiative, 27 families in the community have expressed interest in receiving Bible studies in their homes, motivated by the positive way the message was shared through the book. Rafael Bolívar, an Adventist pastor who leads this area of the MES, emphasized the importance of connecting with families and society in a meaningful way.

“One of the keys has been reaching out through talks about home, family, and values, specifically targeted at the area's schools. This initiative was made possible thanks to the support of the Education District, which saw the proposed topics as an opportunity to strengthen family ties and promote values education. And we turned it into an opportunity to sow the seed of the gospel,” the pastor emphasized.

Global Mission volunteers presented on topics such as family well-being, emotional health, and values at educational institutions in Amaluza.

Behind this progress is a committed local church. Adventists in Loja province are using their gifts and resources to support the mission. Some members have committed financially to support missionaries who visit homes in Amaluza each week to lead Bible studies. Others are saving with the long-term goal of acquiring land and building an Adventist church in the community.

“What seemed like difficult terrain for the work is now bearing fruit, thanks to prayer, unity, and missionary action. As a Mission, we continue working and collaborating with each Global Mission project. Every step taken in Amaluza is proof that when God's people unite in a purpose, doors open, miracles occur, and the gospel advances,” said Elid Moreira, president of MES.

This outreach is part of the Global Mission initiative, which focuses on sharing the gospel in areas that are often difficult to reach. In Amaluza, where missionary work has historically been challenging, the distribution of the missionary book has opened space for deeper conversations, personal reflection, and decisions grounded in biblical principles.
