With a spirit of redemption and service, the Pathfinder clubs of the South Ecuador Mission (MES) of Seventh-day Adventists participated in a week of emphasis from September 11–17, 2023, where they demonstrated their commitment to the church and local communities.

The various social activities were carried out as part of the celebration of the 73rd anniversary of the Pathfinder Club and consisted of cleaning up parks and church facades, caring for the poor, donating food to the needy, helping the elderly and people with disabilities, and visiting people in health centers.

In addition, on Saturday, September 16, all the churches in southern Ecuador held a special ceremony for World Pathfinder Day, where they made investitures of handkerchiefs and speciality pins, and by the grace of God, 94 Pathfinders gave their lives to Christ through baptism.

For Pastor Edmundo Ortega, Youth Ministries director for the MES, this date moves Pathfinders to serve their neighbors with love: "We have mobilized the Pathfinders to make known their mission in favor of the community and [sharing] the message of salvation to the world. Their strengths have been put into every challenge, and we see how happy they are to serve others with love. The leaders show their commitment to these events by getting involved with the little ones and by their example of service, lending a hand to those who need it most and praying for those in need of salvation."

This worldwide program helps to publicize who the Pathfinders are and position the Adventist Church in the community. The Pathfinder Club is a department of the Seventh-day Adventist Church that works specifically with the cultural, social, and religious education of children and adolescents, ages 10–15.
