Radio Oasis in Madagascar celebrated its 25th anniversary on December 13, 2025, during a commemorative program held in Antananarivo. Seventh-day Adventist Church leaders, guests, and supporters gathered to reflect on the station’s history and mission, highlighting its focus on evangelism, education, health, and human development.

Local pastor Andriamparatiana Fanera emphasized that Radio Oasis is operated by the Adventist Church, while its programming is intended to serve the broader community.

Referencing Revelation 14:6, Fanera compared radio waves to messengers carrying a message outward, underscoring the station’s role in sharing hope-centered content. Musical selections by the Feon’ny Faminaniana choir and poetry recitations by Ny Vetso were also part of the morning program.

A key moment of the anniversary observance was the inauguration of a commemorative plaque and a new studio and equipment intended to strengthen the quality of Radio Oasis broadcasts.

The Ministry of Communication and Culture was represented at the event. The inauguration was attended by ministry representatives, journalists from Remapsen, Madagascar, and departmental leaders of the Adventist Church.

Rakotonandrasana Rado, director of the Department of Communication and Religious Freedom within the Adventist Church in the Indian Ocean, described the radio as a bridge connecting people with faith in Jesus and said the station’s role includes offering hope and empowerment to the community. He also noted that Radio Oasis began in Antananarivo and has since grown to 19 Radio Oasis stations across Madagascar.

During his remarks, Mandrindrarivony called for renewal in Madagascar and encouraged Radio Oasis to produce programs addressing renewal alongside its educational initiatives. Certificates of recognition were presented to the radio’s founders, staff, and others connected with the station’s work from its early technical trials through 2025. The recognition ceremony was followed by a visit to Radio Oasis and discussions with station representatives.

The afternoon program included performances by several musical groups, including Balsama, Vonivato, Antsan’ny Voary, Sambatra, and Ambasadora. Organizers also shared a video highlighting the station’s history and featured testimonies from staff members and listener representatives. A special time of prayer for Radio Oasis staff and the station’s future was led by Rasoanandrianina Mirado Elie, director of the Communication Department at the Central Madagascar Conference.

The anniversary program concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony on December 13. Randrianarivony Herimanitra, director of Radio Oasis, coordinated the day’s events with support from departmental leaders and members of the organizing committee.
