A children’s choir from St. Albans Seventh-day Adventist Church in the United Kingdon, launched their first original song and music video, We Are the Kingdom, on September 10, 2025.

Developed under the leadership of Delaverne (Del) Baxter and Melita Pazitka, the project was born out of a desire to produce Christ-centred music that children could personally relate to and use as a witnessing tool. The project features nearly 40 children aged one to ten, supported by teens and the wider church community.

“The objective was to create a resource that children can use to talk to their friends about God,” said Baxter, composer of We Are the Kingdom. “Instead of always looking to YouTube for kids’ songs, they’ve now created something themselves that they can truly relate to. This leaves a legacy and reminds them that the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to them, even though they are young.”

Community Spirit Fuels the Vision

Youth members recorded demo learning tracks, while others contributed through roles such as project management, security, wardrobe coordination, and fundraising. A community bake sale raised £500 (about US$570), demonstrating strong local support.

Children who were not able to participate in the recording contributed creatively by designing self-portraits for the cover art or helping with fundraising efforts.

“Watching these children use their God-given talents to create something meaningful that they can share with their friends has been truly inspiring,” said Pazitka, St. Albans Church Children’s Ministries leader and project co-manager. “It’s evangelism in action, delivered through the pure voices and hearts of our youngest members.”

From a Studio to the Park

Rehearsals began in spring 2025 under the direction of choir leader Beatrice Cooper. Recording took place in June at Up Top Studio in Redbourn, where around 30 children recorded vocals. The accompanying music video was filmed during a family day at Rothamsted Park in Harpenden, with permission from the local authorities.

Participants share that the filming day served as a form of public witness. Crew members wore high-visibility vests with QR codes linking to information about the project, sparking conversations with intrigued onlookers.

A Lasting Legacy for Young Disciples

The Kingdom Kidz project has created a professional-quality recording and music video while leaving behind lasting memories and a deep sense of accomplishment for all involved. Leaders hope the message of God’s love will reach far beyond St Albans.

“This simple message of love and hope is intended not only for those involved,” said one organizer, “but for children and adults everywhere who need to be reminded that the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to the young.”

The song and video were released on Code Group Music platforms and will be available on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, and other major streaming services from 10 September 2025. Search: We Are the Kingdom, Kingdom Kidz.
