"Keys to Health"

From November 27th to December 4th, an extraordinary evangelical program entitled, "Keys to Health" was held at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Comrat. The foundation of this program was the "Method of Christ", which presupposes, first of all, practical help to people, and then the preaching of the Word.

The Keys to Health program brought together medical missionary and preaching work. The House of Prayer was full of visitors everyday during the week from 8am to 8pm. The medical missionary part of the program brought together Evangelist Jean Taranyuk, also the head of the Sabbath School and Personal Ministries Department in the Euro Asian Division (EAD), his wife Jeanne, ministers of Moldova, and volunteers from the local community.

Every day more than 20 volunteers served the needs of the people with their talents. The House of Prayer in Comrat was turned into a mini sanitarium; all rooms and classrooms were converted into health rooms. People came from near and far to receive treatment and help. There were many applicants, but not everyone could be accepted due to a lack of time, resources, and space. 

Visitors were met by the administrator, who explained to them the essence of the program, recorded the patient's data, and then sent them to the primary examination room, where Zhanna Nikolayevna Taranyuk checked their information, listened to their complaints, and made recommendations.

In addition, there were two designated massage rooms (for men and women), as well as a treatment room, where the patient could receive the following procedures: heating, wrapping, curative cups, phyto-bags (based on medicinal herbs and essential oils), bags for osteochondrosis, spinal hernia, and more.

After the patient had gone through all of the procedures, which lasted approximately 60-90 minutes, their visit ended with a meeting with pastors and spiritual counselors. In a pleasant and friendly atmosphere, they were offered medicinal tea (made from herbs) and talked with the pastor. Pastors and helpers talked about the eight laws of health, discussed the spiritual aspects of life and health, prayed with visitors, and offered Bible studies. Thus, in a relaxed atmosphere, guests (patients) opened up for more open conversation and showed trust.

In just six days, more than 150 people visited our mini sanitarium, leaving positive feedback and showing interest in spiritual values ​​and spiritual health.

Every evening, within the framework of this program, spiritual meetings were held, at which songs and poems sounded. Health principles were presented.

An important part before the sermon was prayers with all those present in the hall and with online viewers, who every evening had the opportunity to watch the Keys to Health program live.

The culminating part of the evening program were sermons by Jean Petrovich Taranyuk, who introduced the visitors to Jesus, presenting one of the healing stories described on the pages of Holy Scripture, after which he invited those wishing to make a choice to follow Jesus to go on stage.

Every evening, the stage was filled with people answering the call. On the last evening, two people made a covenant with the Lord through water baptism, and more than 30 people decided to prepare for baptism in the future.

This program united and involved in active ministry ministers and church members once again confirmed the truthfulness of Ellen White's words:

“Christ’s method alone will give true success in reaching the people. The Savior mingled with [men and women] as one who desired their good. He showed His sympathy for them, ministered to their needs, and won their confidence. Then He bade them, ‘Follow Me’ ” (Ministry of Healing, p. 143).
