The Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Inter-America region is breaking new ground with a live Internet broadcast from its annual executive committee meeting. On Monday, May 20, at 7:00 p.m. (EDT) viewers can go to www.interamerica.org to watch church leaders in Inter-America give statistical and financial reports. The transmission will also include a spiritual message from Pastor Israel Leito, president of the church in the region.
“Church members can join in as constituents of their own faith community in real time,” says Leon Wellington, communication director for the church in Inter-America. “This approach aims at sharing with our church members, on a first-hand basis, not only the church at work, but also enable those participating on the Internet to share a sense of joyful feeling and gratitude how the Lord is blessing His church.”
“The church in this region is showing the way forward for all levels of church administrative leadership around the world,” says Ray Dabrowski, communication director for the world church. “They are using technology to make information more accessible to church members, and making the church’s work more transparent and with a greater sense of accountability.”
There are nearly 2.2 million Adventists in Inter-America, worshiping in more than 6,800 churches.
