A two-week satellite evangelistic series, which began Oct. 17 from El Progreso School Auditorium in Guatemala City, is being viewed by thousands in Guatemala and 15 different regions of Inter-America, according to Ivan Omana, Ministerial Association secretary for the church in the Inter-American region.
Our church lives evangelism constantly, Omana said. “We don’t need a [special] time of the year to reach out. The Adventist Church evangelizes all the time.”
“Baptisms are not our prime objective, but to let [our viewers] know that we are continually reaching out,” he said.
Under a theme “Life and Hope,” the series of televised evening events involve 15 pastors representing 15 different parts of the region. Each presentation is simultaneously translated into French, Spanish or English. According to Omana, this mega media event series concludes the many local evangelistic efforts undertaken by congregations in the region since July.
A technical team from the Inter-American regional headquarters in Miami, Florida, is working with local satellite and cable companies in Guatemala. “Life and Hope” is broadcast by the Adventist Television Network for Latin America (ADSAT) and 3ABN (Latin America).
