Incoming University President Emphasizes Spiritual Values

Don Sahly, director of leadership training for the Seventh-day Adventist Church worldwide, has accepted an invitation to be president of Southwestern Adventist University.

Don Sahly, director of leadership training for the Seventh-day Adventist Church worldwide, has accepted an invitation to be president of Southwestern Adventist University.

Sahly, who will take up his new responsibilities in early 2002, has more than 33 years experience in education and administration, and holds a doctor of education degree. He says he has “a strong commitment to the spiritual dimension of Adventist education.” Southwestern University exists “to complement the spiritual training of the family and the church, and to help our students grow in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ,” he says.

Established by the Adventist Church in 1894, Southwestern Adventist University is a liberal arts institution located 30 minutes south of Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, United States. It has an enrolment of almost 1,200 students.
