HopeMedia Spain, the media ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Spain, marked its 25th anniversary with a ceremony at its newly renovated facilities on the Adventist Campus of Sagunto. More than 200 people attended the event, which highlighted the organization’s history, expansion, and future initiatives.
A Glimpse into History
Samuel Gil, former communications director of the Spanish Union of Churches Conference and newly appointed associate communications director at the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, reviewed the history of the ministry, which began as the Center for Multimedia Productions (CPM).
Global Adventist leaders attended the anniversary, including Rubén Abreu, secretary of the Inter-European Division; Paulo Macedo, director of Communication and Public Affairs and Religious Liberty for the EUD; Alyssa Truman, General Conference communication director; and representatives from HopeMedia Europe and Speranza TV in Romania. Gil also recognized leaders from the Spanish Adventist Union, various Adventist institutions in Spain, and long-time partners from Jaume I University.
During the ceremony, Gil unveiled the results of the extensive expansion and renovation project, which had required months of dedication and work. He acknowledged the efforts of the professional team responsible for bringing this vision to life, with support from the Sagunto Town Hall, the Finance Committee, and the administration of the Spanish Union of Churches Conference.
Gil stated, “The foundations of these new offices are not made of cement; they are built on people united in Spirit and in Truth.”
Over the past 25 years, HopeMedia has thrived due to the passion, enthusiasm, and professionalism of all those who have contributed to its mission. Yet, there remains much more to achieve in fulfilling the calling to reach all nations, tribes, languages, and peoples with the Gospel, leaders say.
HopeMedia’s Expansion
Over the past 25 years, HopeMedia has expanded its presence beyond its website and YouTube channels to platforms including Apple TV, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, LG, Samsung, Spotify, and Ivoox. Its content is also distributed internationally through partnerships with Adventist media outlets in Latin America, Ukraine, and Romania, as well as with non-Adventist broadcasters such as Comarcal TV, Grupo Cadena Media, and Bocairent.
Additionally, the "Audiovisual Ambassador" project has been implemented, distributing content through contracts with media outlets like Comarcal TV, Grupo Cadena Media, and Bocairent. This initiative is currently in a pilot phase within the Valencian Community and is set to expand throughout Spain.
Furthermore, the HopeMedia Academy training program has empowered hundreds to enhance their professional skills, particularly within the church.
Vision for the Future
Looking ahead, HopeMedia announced several projects, including the production of its first feature film, Resurgentes: bajo la sombra, scheduled for filming later in 2025. It aims to connect with new generations.
Leaders also introduced a scholarship program, offering 10 grants for young audiovisual creatives—six national and four international. This initiative will provide financial support, mentorship, and exposure on HopeMedia’s official channels.
The celebration concluded with the unveiling of a monolith at the entrance of the facility symbolizing HopeMedia’s mission of outreach through media.
After 25 years of history, HopeMedia Spain leaders reaffirmed their commitment to producing relevant and biblical content, with a clear purpose: to serve as a bridge for thousands to personally encounter Jesus.
