The Hope Channel Network recently celebrated two milestones: the tenth anniversary of Hope Channel New Zealand and the launch of Hope Channel Papua New Guinea (PNG).

“These two milestones, ten years in New Zealand and the launch in Papua New Guinea, show the continuing development of the Hope Channel network,” said Vyacheslav Demyan, president of Hope Channel International. “Our purpose remains the same: to connect every heart globally with eternal hope through media that inspires.”

Hope Channel New Zealand

On September 15, 2015, Hope Channel New Zealand began free-to-air broadcasting across the country. In the ten years since its launch, the channel has expanded into digital and social media platforms and opened the Hope Channel Bible Study Centre, which serves people from a variety of backgrounds, including those in correctional facilities. It has also built stronger links between viewers and local church communities.

“Hope Channel exists to share the everlasting hope we find in Jesus Christ. Because of Hope Channel, hundreds of people have committed their lives to Christ and are now members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church,” said Ole Pedersen, general manager of Media & Communications for the New Zealand Pacific Union Conference.

The channel has announced that in the next decade it will prioritize a digital-first approach, producing Bible-based and Christ-centered programming designed for streaming, on-demand platforms, and social media.

Hope Channel Papua New Guinea

Hope Channel PNG officially launched on September 6, 2025. The channel provides nationwide broadcasting and is available on NBC Channel 7’s digital platform. It delivers Christ-centered programs in Tok Pisin and English.

The launch builds on more than a century of Seventh-day Adventist presence in the country, beginning with the establishment of the first mission station at Bisiatabu in 1908. From that site, early missionaries and local pioneers spread the gospel through schools, clinics, and community initiatives.

“TV speaks to the nation,” said Wayne Boehm, outgoing Hope Channel South Pacific director. “Where once a kerosene lamp glowed in a bush school, now the light of Jesus will shine through screens, carrying hope to every home.”

Hope Channel International recognized the leadership of Dr. Brad Kemp, Ray Paul, Reeves Papol, Douglas Rinny, Jacqueline Wari, and the Papua New Guinea Union Mission administration for their role in bringing the channel to launch.

Hope Channel PNG has been dedicated to producing Christ-centered programs that teach biblical truth, strengthen families, and invite viewers into a growing relationship with Jesus and a connection to local Adventist Church congregations.
