The takjil-sharing activity served as a tangible expression of Hope Channel Indonesia’s care and service to the community. It also aimed to strengthen relationships with the surrounding neighborhood and spread a spirit of love and tolerance amid differences in faith.

Takjil refers to light snacks or refreshments traditionally prepared and shared in Muslim communities to break the daily fast during the holy month of Ramadan. These items are usually distributed shortly before sunset, when those observing the fast are preparing to end their day of abstinence from food and drink.

Targeting motorcyclists and online motorcycle taxi drivers passing along MT Haryono Street in South Jakarta, volunteers distributed 150 takjil packages as an act of compassion and service to members of the community who were observing the fasting period.

Melvin Siringo-ringo, chair of the organizing committee, shared that the activity involved the entire staff of Hope Channel Indonesia.

“Through this activity, our entire team had the opportunity to serve the community directly,” Siringo-ringo said. “Our staff personally distributed the takjil packages to motorists passing by as they prepared to break their fast. It is our simple way of expressing care, building goodwill with our neighbors, and sharing kindness with those observing the fasting season.”

The public’s enthusiasm was evident in how quickly the takjil was distributed. All 150 packages prepared by the organizers were handed out in approximately 15 minutes. Through this activity, Hope Channel Indonesia expressed its hope to continue promoting a spirit of sharing, strengthening relationships with the surrounding community, and demonstrating love for fellow human beings despite differences in belief.
