The event took place on Sabbath, May 22, in the Prayer House in the city of Korenovsk. The initiative of the event belongs to the head of the music department of the Korenovsk community, Ilga Frantsevna Blazhevich. Initially, the event was not planned for such a large scale, but there was a desire to make a musical evening based on the biblical book of Psalms.
Why This Particular Book?
The fact is that the choir's repertoire contains many psalms from this particular book. There are very old psalms, even from the collection of "Psalms of Zion", as well as more recent works, and they are enough to compose a complete program filled with the glorification of the Lord.
We were thoroughly preparing for the program for a long time. At one of the rehearsals, two weeks before the appointed date, the choirs expressed the opinion that it would be nice to invite other choirs from neighboring communities. At first, the organizers found this idea too troublesome, but the Lord had His own plans. A few days later, the head of the KCHO music ministry, Tatyana Askerova, called to ask if help was needed and if the Korenovsk church would like to invite guests from other communities. And then the final decision was made to expand the format of the event.
Tatiana Askerova was involved in inviting musicians from other cities; Pastor Alexander Maranin took over organizational issues in the community. About 200 invitations were handed out before the concert. As a result, 15 people came to the event and, for the first time, crossed the threshold of the Adventist Church.
Choral groups from Apsheronsk and Krasnodar came to the concert. An instrumental group of teenagers also performed. Young children recited the Psalms by heart. There were more than 60 people participating in the worship program.
The festive table, which was laid by the deaconesses, was a pleasant surprise and fed everyone from the heart. The concert ended with a general, prayerful singing of "God Bless You and Keep You." At that moment, it seemed that the breath of the Lord was felt and heaven itself sang along with the choristers, and many had tears in their eyes.
In Korenovsk, an event of this magnitude took place for the first time and will go down in the history of the community. In the future, there is a desire to carry out such programs in other communities of the Kuban-Black Sea Association.
