The Municipality of Guayaquil, located in Ecuador, partnered with Segura EP and the Department of Social Reconstruction to host an event for women from various sectors of the province of Guayas on November 29, 2024. This event was part of the Florezca (Flourish) project sponsored by the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Flourish is an initiative developed by the Women's Ministry of the Adventist Church that provides materials with ideas and activities aimed at helping individuals improve their emotional well-being, cultivate healthy emotions, and maintain a positive attitude, even during challenging times.

The project offered training sessions focused on strengthening women's spiritual resilience, promoting self-love, and teaching them how to channel their emotions effectively. Additionally, the Basta de Silencio (Enough of Silence) magazine was distributed to all participants.

Celia Olivo, leader of the Adventist Church's Women's Ministry for southern Ecuador, commented on the importance of bringing this project to the community. “Today is an important day for our church, since, in the context of involving women in society in our projects with a desire to serve, we are participating together with the city's municipality to take care of these ladies, with our professionals, our staff and our material, to offer special and spiritual help,” she emphasized.

The ladies also took part in activities centered around themes of personal growth or "blossoming" in significant aspects of a woman's life, as well as the achievement of their goals and aspirations. These activities promote the development of women as a vital part of society.

Miriam Obregón, manager of social reconstruction, emphasized the importance of the Adventist Church's involvement in these events. "The collaboration of the Adventist Church has been invaluable to us, as the methodology employed focuses on strengthening key areas in every woman's life. We seek to expand these collaborations to include children and adolescents, working alongside the church," she highlighted.

This is the second project adopted by the Municipality of Guayaquil for the benefit of its citizens. The first was the Enough of Silence campaign, which involved distributing and sharing magazines in various government agencies as supportive materials for their users.

The Adventist Church in southern Ecuador seeks to fulfill its mission by implementing strategies that reach more communities in partnership with organizations that serve these groups. The goal is to provide them with support through various projects and share the message of Jesus through acts of love and care for others.
