On July 6, 2025, during the 62nd General Conference (GC) Session in St. Louis, Missouri, delegates elected Gary D. Krause as an associate secretary of the Seventh-day Adventist Church for the 2025–2030 quinquennium.

Krause has served in this role since July 2010. He is the liaison officer to the Israel Field and also serves as director of Adventist Mission, where he oversees the Global Mission Centers, church planting efforts, and mission promotion across diverse cultural and geographic contexts.

Born into a missionary family, Krause grew up immersed in cross-cultural ministry and later served in Australia before joining the General Conference. He holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Avondale University, a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Newcastle, a Master of Arts in journalism from the University of Technology Sydney, and a PhD in practical theology from the University of Queensland, with a focus on Adventist urban ministry.

Krause brings strategic insight and a deep passion for innovative frontline mission work to his role supporting the world church.

The election is part of the broader decision-making process of the GC Session, where global delegates gather every five years for worship, prayer, and organizational leadership decisions.
