The 14th Pathfinder Camporee took place on July 31–August 5, 2023, on the campus of Friedensau Adventist University.

The Pathfinder Camporee for Southern and Western Europe takes place every four years. More than 2,700 scouts and guides, between 12–15 years old, from 14 European countries, come together to spend a week learning from each other and experiencing nature, adventure, scouting activities, and Christian faith.

The 14th EUD Camporee took place under the motto #FOLLOW ME - Share your story. About 2,400 young people participated, while about 300 staff members made sure everything went well.

The Host

The Adventist Youth in Germany was founded in 1903 as an independent youth association of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The Adventist Youth in Germany works closely and regularly with the conferences and their teams for nationwide and international events.

The Organizer

The Inter-European Division (EUD), based in Bern, Switzerland, is responsible for the Adventist churches in 14 countries in Southern and Western Europe. In cooperation with the representatives of the individual countries, the Youth Department organizes the international children's and youth event, the EUD Scout Camporee, every four years.

Comments and Statements

"From July 31 to August 5, we welcome over 2,700 young scouts from all over Europe to the campus of the Theological University in Friedensau. A colorful week awaits the children and young people, with sports and leisure activities, outdoor activities, and time for togetherness, as well as practical workshops relevant to everyday life on the program,” stated Ruben Grieco, national director for the Adventist Youth in Germany.

"As a theological college, we are very happy that after 22 years, we can once again welcome the Pathfinder Camporee with more than 2,700 participants on our campus in Friedensau,” shared Tobias Koch, chancellor and managing director of the Friedensau campus.

“May the scouts not only enjoy all the activities we have prepared for them but have an encounter with Jesus that will change their lives forever,” declared Jonatan Tejel, Youth director for the EUD.

“The Camporee this year is really a special meeting—also for us citizens of Friedensau,” said Rüdiger Schröter, local mayor of Friedensau. “It is great that, after 2001, a camporee of the Adventist Youth is taking place here again, and that so many scouts can get to know Friedensau with all its possibilities.”
