The music department of the Adventist Church in Ukraine held, for the first time, an online All-Ukrainian music festival. The two day event, held July 4 & 5, was also promoted by the Nadiya TV Channel.

Using a psalm of praise as the motto, the event proposed finding new methods of glorifying God and expressing gratitude to Him, exploring new approaches to evangelism and uniting musicians from all over the country.

Olena Nosova, head of music ministry for the Adventist Church in Ukraine, shares that the idea to hold this type of festival came during quarantine when people were isolated at home and receptive to listening to spiritual singing.

After discussing the idea with the Advent Music Ua team and music ministry regional leaders, they joined forces and began preparing for the event. They spent two months studying technical issues and choosing festival nominations in several categories: quarantine choir/group, instrumental performance, solo performance, songwriter, and family performance.

It is impossible to describe the effort expended, since a whole team worked on preparing each video: performers, sound engineers, video editors, and artistic directors. In spite of all the obstacles and problems, with God's help, they were able to make 54 compositions.

The festival consisted of two parts, a family children’s repertoire and a general music program. These were unique performances of choral groups, ensembles, and soloists. Most of all, the audience was pleased with the children's performances.

Nosova says, “From the very beginning of the festival until its completion, we felt God's guidance and His presence even in small things.” The audience’s response was positive encouragement for event hosts and organizers when families and communities viewed together and wrote their comments.

“We discovered many new talents and learned to glorify God in an unusual format. May the loving Lord abundantly bless all the participants of the event, so that we can continue to grow and glorify His name with worthy praise!” Nosova concludes.
